Visual representation of Yuku, the Paakantyi Ancestor Being who gifted the people with fire. She danced across the sky when the land was in primordial darkness, lighting it as she went, and giving the people life-sustaining heat and fire. She would then rest at the end of the day, returning the skies to darkness. She can be seen in the sky as the Sun. Yuku is also the Paakantyi word for sun or day.
